Let me introduce myself and AV8 Consulting Limited.

 

My name is John Gibson and I have some 30 years experience working in commercial aviation for successful large, medium and small UK based airlines.

 

My expertise lies in Safety, Engineering and Flight Operations, areas specifically covered include;

 

Engineering;

• 10 years within Engineering Management of a large UK flag carrier airline.

• Expertise in Aircraft Systems and Powerplant.

• Liaison with the major airframe manufacturers, regulators and OEMs.

• New aircraft introductions, design spec requirements etc.

Flight Operations;

• Currently Director of Safety & Compliance for UK 747-400/-8 Cargo Airline.

• Previously Chief Technical Pilot and Captain on A320/321 for UK based prestigious charter airline.

• Prior to this spent 4 years as Chief Technical Pilot for UK cargo 747-400 and 747-8 operators.

• Prior to this, Flight Safety and Fleet Management role  on A320/321 for UK based holiday airline.

• Acceptance and delivery of 747-8 and A321 aircraft.

• Production and maintenance of FCOMs, MEL etc.

• Presentation of technical refresher and Operator Conversion (OCC) courses.

Flight Safety;

• Management of Safety & Compliance.

• EASA ORO.GEN.200 Safety Manager and Accountable Manager qualified.

• Experience as airline Flight Safety Officer, assessing ASRs and carrying out safety investigations.

• Experienced in use of FDM systems such as Aerobytes and BAFDA as key flight safety tools.

• An enthusiastic practitioner of SMS and Risk Management processes and procedures.

• Delivering SMS and safety training courses.
